The mechanics, up front — the same numbers the contracts use.

A small team working around a wooden table with laptops, code on one screen
F.01Reviews happen on live pages, in the open.
Overhead view of a shared work table with laptops, notebooks and coffee
F.02Standups are written. Meetings are the exception.
A laptop showing a video call with many participants, a mug beside it on a wooden table
F.03Calls are short, scheduled — and followed by notes.
Rows of desks in a large open-plan workspace, people working at computers
F.04Briefs arrive in writing. Deep work stays deep.

How it works

For talent

  1. Apply onceOne form, your best shipped work, your band. No cover-letter theatre.
  2. Get vettedPortfolio review, then a small paid trial task at your own rate.
  3. Get matchedBriefs that fit your stack and hours — you see the client, the rate and the length before you say yes.
  4. Sign & buildA written contract at the published band before the first commit.
  5. Get paid in 14 daysMonthly invoice, 14-day cycle, EUR or USD. Every cycle, on the record.

For clients

  1. Send a one-page briefStack, scope, hours, start date. Ten minutes, not a procurement process.
  2. Shortlist in 48 hoursTwo or three vetted developers with live work you can inspect today.
  3. Deposit starts itThe engagement deposit books the developer's calendar. No deposit, no hold — for anyone.
  4. Build, in the openWeekly written updates against milestones. You always know what shipped.
  5. Two-week checkpointOn every first engagement, either side can end it at week two without penalty.

Rates, published

These bands are the bands in the contract. Clients see them, talent sees them, nobody negotiates in the dark. Hourly, before VAT where it applies.

Published hourly rate bands by role and level, in euros and US dollars
RoleLevelEUR / hourUSD / hour
Front-End DeveloperJunior€30–40$35–45
Mid€45–60$50–68
Senior€65–85$72–95
Shopify DeveloperJunior€28–38$32–42
Mid€42–56$48–62
Senior€60–78$66–86
Performance SpecialistJunior€32–42$36–46
Mid€50–66$55–72
Senior€72–95$80–105

Where you land inside a band is set at vetting, in writing, and reviewed every six months. It never moves mid-engagement.

03

Rate calculator

Same bands, same formula — run the monthly number the way a contract would, before anyone talks.

Your estimate

Monthly estimate = hourly band × hours per week × 52 ÷ 12, rounded to the nearest €10 / $10.

EUR €7,800 – €10,400 / month

USD $8,670 – $11,790 / month

Example shown: Front-End Developer, Mid, 40 h/week. Change any field and the estimate updates.

Work rules

05

Life in the network

No headquarters, no commute, no theatre. What the working week actually looks like when the rules above are kept:

An open monthly planner with handwritten goals next to a cup of coffee
Async standups The day starts with a written check-in, not a call. Decisions stay in the thread, where anyone can read them back — across every time zone the network covers.
A team planning session, sticky notes arranged on a wall
Paid trial weeks Try-outs here are real work: scoped in writing, capped at eight hours, paid at your band — whether or not you join. Nobody performs for free, nobody hires blind.
Three colleagues talking around a table with laptops
Payday, every 14 days Invoices clear on a fixed 14-day cycle, in EUR or USD. The date does not move, and nobody has to chase it — the calendar is the contract.

Apply

One application, kept on file for every matching brief. You will hear back either way — silence is not a workflow.

Demo form: your application is stored only in this browser (localStorage). Nothing is sent anywhere.

08

The talent standard

Fewer people, held to a clearer bar. Vetting is four steps, and two of them are about how you work — not just what you can build.

  1. Step 1Shipped work, liveReal URLs, real users. We read the code and load the pages — portfolios of screenshots do not pass.
  2. Step 2A paid trial taskFour to eight hours of real work at your band, agreed in writing before you start. Paid whether or not you join.
  3. Step 3Working-style callThirty minutes on how you communicate: async habits, written updates, flagging problems early.
  4. Step 4First match, checkpointedYour first engagement carries the two-week checkpoint. After that, the band review clock starts.

09

Playground

Two small tools in the network's spirit: free, instant, and run entirely in your browser — nothing you type is sent anywhere.

llms.txt generator

An llms.txt tells AI tools what a site is and where its pages live. Fill in the fields — the file writes itself.

Your llms.txt
# Your site

> One-line description of what this site is and who it serves.

ASCII wordmark maker

Type a word and get a banner. Letters and numbers, up to ten characters.

Your banner
Your banner renders here.

Paste it into a README, a signature, a commit message — wherever a little theatre helps.

Questions

How does Northloop make money?

Clients pay a placement margin on top of the published band. Your band is never discounted to fund it — the number you see is the number in your contract.

Do I need to be based in Europe?

No. The network is remote-only and worldwide. You invoice monthly in EUR or USD; overlapping hours are agreed per engagement, in writing, before it starts.

Are trial tasks really paid?

Yes — at your band, capped at eight hours, agreed in writing before you begin, and paid whether or not you join the network. If anyone ever asks you for unpaid test work in our name, it is not us.

Who is my contract with?

Northloop contracts with the client; you contract with Northloop. Scope, rate, IP transfer and notice terms are all written down before the first commit.

What if a match is wrong?

Every first engagement has a two-week checkpoint. Either side — you or the client — can end it there without penalty, and you are paid in full for the time worked.

How fast will I hear back on an application?

Within five working days, either way. A short note saying no is part of the standard, not an exception to it.
